Mission 14 is linear, but allows you to tackle the bosses in whatever order you want so at least you can have some variety in how to tackle them.Mission 8 (the first true Qliphoth level) has at least two points where the level design diverges if you're good enough to kill enemies fast enough (or know how to maximise air time). It's more like a 3rd of the levels taking place in such levels and even so they are amongst the shorter levels of the game Between this and Black Myth Wukong, Chinese devs seem to be finally stepping into high budget single player games and I'm all for it. But overall, wow, I really hope this game comes together nicely. Every attack feels like it has the same sfx on it. They feel a bit flacid and lacking in sharpness. My only real gripe is the sound design on the attacks. Some might think that the camera might be moving around a bit too much but I think it really captured the movement of the attacks and the characters well. The cutscene direction was really well done too imo. Like it makes the game feel more believable that it exists. I also kinda appreciate how you can clearly see the "roughness" in some animations which makes it look more "real" to me. The over zealous use of special effects and crazy animations has almost gone a full circle into making it genuinely look kinda crazy. I think this is the first game that really captures the madness of proper Chinese Xianxia story writing. Jokes aside, wow wow wow what an extremely unique looking game.
